About Me

:

Jennifer Uy is an Illustrator with a strong focus in Motion Graphic Design. She is an Alumni at both Emily Carr University of Art & Design and BCIT.

Throughout her illustration career and education, Jennifer’s work has been focused on the bold, bustling, whimsical nature of adolescence. Specifically, the early period in life that brings out innocence, immaturity, and inexperience throughout one’s youth. She is a story teller and a painter throughout her work.

She Influenced by Pop Culture, Stationary, Comics, and Animation and uses the following mediums: Wacom Tablet device, Liquitex Soft Body Acrylics, Multi-liner Pens/ Coloured Pencils to challenge the digital age in both digital and traditional mediums. So that regardless of the medium, the effect and embodiment of the artist will remain alive.

On a side note, Jennifer continues stay curious and open-minded with the ongoing improvements in trends and technology. Which has allowed her to expand from illustration to Motion Graphic Design.

  • Aside from my passion for Illustration and Motion Design, I am a self-taught learner as I love learning new things outside my current comfort zone.

Currently, I am taking an online course on “Illustration for Motion” from School of Motion with instructor Sarah Beth Morgan. As I am interested learning how to animate illustrated graphics.

Outside my passion hobbies, I love reading self-help novels, collecting art books, exploring social media and Pinterest for ideas, traveling to different places, sewing, and staying up to date with fashion trends.

  • Together with my current and new skill sets, my goal is to be a freelance as an Illustrator and Motion Graphic Designer.

After gaining years of experience as a Motion Graphic Designer, my goal is to merge both skill sets and create illustrated motion graphics for television intros, commercial ads, and editorial magazines.,
